The Alliance hosts a Fall PRIDE Festival in Durango during September for the inclusion of the student body at Fort Lewis College. However, other great LGBT groups throw several awesome events happening around Southwest Colorado and northern New Mexico during the month of June.  Check them out below to learn more about Pride in the Four Corners!

The Alliance's First Friday
Swag Re-Up, Food & Bevs @ Lola's

Make sure you start your PRIDE off right with all the right colors!  Join us as we kick off Pride 2024 in the Four Corners with an opportunity to grab a flag from any community, sticker, tote bag, or any other swag you can't go to a parade without. We will have a guide showing all of the different PRIDE flags, their meanings, and the ability to take one home for yourself.  This event will be all ages with alcohol available to patrons age 21+.

Rainbow Youth Center
Jurassic Pride

Rainbow Youth Center is a wonderful LGBTQIA+ resource youth in Durango and Southwest Colorado, and they are putting on a family-friendly Pride bash in the spirit of Jurassic Park!  In addition to the weekly events they provide in their center, their big June Pride Event is always a positive light in the community. The event will be held at Buckley Park in Durango from 1-4pm and will feature actual paleontologists!  There will also be food trucks, a silent auction, a dunk tank, and much more fun for the entire family.

Bread & Durango Public Library
Queer Writing Book Club

Bread Bakery and Durango Public Library's book discussion series in June will feature Queer Writing, a discussion of 2SLGBTQIA+ authors, storytellers, poets, LGBT themes in writing, and any other interesting subjects relating to queerness in literature.

Aria PettyOne
Show Your Pride Week

The biggest, baddest, greenest Drag Queen in Durango, Aria PettyOne, is bringing back her "Show Your Pride" Week in 2024 during the week of June 26-30th.  Aria PettyOne's Show Your Pride showcases the best of Durango Drag and other talent, as well as some really cool spaces across the town, too.  Featuring a Talent Show, Pride Skate, Lip Sync Battles & more, she definitely knows how to keep the Southwest LGBTQ community iconic.  Check out her socials and event poster below!

The Alliance & FLC  History Club
Past, Present & Future

Due to logistic issues in planning, The Alliance  and Fort Lewis History Club regret to inform the community the Pride: Past, Present & Future theater production has been cancelled for 2024.   We extend our deepest and sincerest apologies to the community, and are excited to plan an artistic, beautiful, and respectful showcasing of PRIDE in 2025.

2024 Event Description: "The Alliance and the History Club at Fort Lewis College have teamed up for a series of skits, short plays, and narrated theater to document the journey of Pride's history.  Showing PRIDE has always been a changing and evolving definition.  This collection of plays will document this evolution, the struggles endured to be here today, and current issues we see facing our community.  This event is free to the public.

Ignacio Pride 2024

The Ignacio Out and Equal Alliance in Ignacio Colorado supports, empower, educates, and advocates for the 2SLGBTG+ people of the Ignacio, the Southern Ute Indian Reservation, Ute Mountain Ute Reservation and surrounding areas by providing a safe and exclusive environment.  They are hosting some awesome events this year, like their Queermunity Pride Conference, in Ignacio for Pride this June – find out more on their social media!

Farmington Pride 2024

Farmington, New Mexico is just over the border from Durango, and they are doing a whole bunch this year for their LGBTQ+ community this June. Farmington Pride 2024, named "Not Afraid to Say Gay", will take place June 14-16; with the Grand Procession happening on June 15th.  Be sure to check out their Pride Talent show! Ouray County Pride 2024

Thinking of spending Pride farther north?  Don't worry, Ouray County has you covered!  Join Ouray County Pride on June 15th in Ridgway, Colorado for their annual Pride Festival.  They will have great food, live performers, an art show, and more awesome community opportunity!  They will also have an after party for attendees 18+ with some of the best drag in the area.  Grab some friends and take a trip on up to Ridgway this June.

Durango Fall Pride 2024 will be held September 11-15.

The big, notorious Durango PRIDE festival is put on annually in September by The Alliance.  You can visit our events page to see pictures from PRIDE in the past.


When and where for PRIDE?

Fall Pride is a 5-day-long queer celebration with events held all over Durango, CO!  There is, however, one event a lot of people ask about:

The dolphins are gay, woohoo!   

Show us what queerness existing naturally looks like, what it means to be queer by nature, or what about  your queerness, to you, feels natural.  This theme may be interpreted in any way  the artist sees fit.

Grand Fall Pride Procession


The grand pride procession is a way to honor, respect and tribute those who have lived openly and freely before us.  Those who have fought and persevered so that we may be able to continue their  battle through our passion and humanity.  The procession will begin on the 6th block of Main Street and continue down Main to Buckley Park, about 30 minutes.  We are excited for you will honor LGBTQIA+ history with us.

Grand Fall Pride Festival


The big event.  The Grand Fall Pride 2023 festival will be hosted in Buckley Park.  This all-day event features bands, amazing drag, hilarious comedy, live music, food, and overall: so much fun!  We have so many different and exciting performers this year, as well as an eclectic variety of community vendors.  Come join us September 9th, 11-4pm at Buckley Park.
